State of Missouri Recieves$1,532,149 to Help Treat HIV
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently received an award of $1,532,149 through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The award will be used to enlarge access to HIV care, treatment, medication, and prevention services throughout the state of Missouri. The awards came from the Administration’s Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE) initiative. The goal of the initiative is to decrease the number of new HIV infections in the nation by 90% over the next ten years. The funding will go towards identifying people that are at risk throughout the state and pursue prevention services, test for the infection and prescribe medicine to treat HIV. HRSA awarded $532,149 to two health centers in the state.
