Man Caught After Escape Work Release Program

A McCracken County, Kentucky inmate that escaped from a work detail was taken into custody southeast of Lexington on Tuesday afternoon.  Officials say 35 year-old Daniel Bell was arrested after a multi-county chase in Johnson County. Police say he chase started in Prestonsburg and ended 30 miles later in Paintsville. Police reported on Sunday that Bell walked away from a work release program at Brooks Stadium in Paducah around 5:40 p.m. Police say stole a maroon 2000 Chevy 2500 Silverado extended cab from the stadium and left in a unknown direction. It was not clear what direction of travel Bell was headed towards, but it was believed he went east. State police continue their investigation into Bell’s escape. he Paducah Police Department is investigating the stolen vehicle.
