A former fishing coach at McCracken County High School that is facing sex abuse and child porn charges has taken a plea deal. Court records reveal that John Parks pleaded guilty Thursday in McCracken County Circuit Court to a charge of attempted sexual abuse and one count of possession of child pornography. He was originally charged with a single count of sexual abuse and 10 counts of possession of child pornography. Those charges were in relation to allegations that he improperly touched a 16-year-old student several times and from images found by law enforcement on devices seized during a search of Parks’ home. He faces up to a year and a half in prison Sentencing has been set for April 17, 2020.
