Southern Illinois University Carbondale Recently Awarded $2.5M in Illinois Research and Innovation Effort

Southern Illinois University Carbondale will soon receive two and a half million dollars as part of an effort to increase research and innovation throughout the state. On Wednesday, Governor Pritzker announced a total of $500 million in capital funding for the project that will take place over the whole state. The university’s iFERM hub is a single part of the statewide group.  A single goal of the group is to uncover new ways to apply and market state agricultural products. The group will use the $2.5 million in initial funding for food and beverage research and programs centered on agriculture programs and a centralized analytics facility.
