Paducah Middle School Student Charged After Threatening to Shoot Classmates

A Paducah Middle School student was taken out of class on Monday and charged by police after a reported threat. Officials say the student made verbal threats against his classmates in the afternoon. When the threat was reported to school officials the student was taken out of class and the incident was reported to the Paducah Police Department. Police say they came to the school l just after noon. They learned that several students and a teacher heard the boy say he would bring a gun to school and shoot people who were telling him to be quiet. The student was charged with 2nd-degree terroristic threatening and was taken to the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Facility.
