Illinois Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Can Now Have Longer Hours to Make Sales

Medical marijuana dispensaries in Illinois are now allowed to have later hours so they can make more sales. The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation granted all dispensaries across the state the opportunity to operate until 10.p.m.  In addition department officials gave guidance to dispensaries that contain both medical and adult use license to make sure the top priority is to serve medical marijuana patients as mandated by state law. Since the program was launched on New Year’s Day, selling medical marijuana is only permitted between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. and the selling of adult use sales are permitted by law until 10 p.m.  To take action the Division of Professional Regulations provided a variance to the medical marijuana administrative rules that became effective immediately to make hours longer in which medical marijuana patients and their caregivers can purchase medical marijuana.
