Moderate Flooding Continues around the Region

Flood levels on the lower end of the Ohio River are falling at a slow rate but the river still sets at moderate flood stage from heavy rains that went through last weekend. At Cairo, the Ohio River crested last Thursday at 49.46 feet, and fell to just 48.7 feet within five days. Flood stage for the Ohio River in Cario is 40 feet. The river front gage for Paducah has been hovering around 41 feet since Wednesday. The river currently sits at 41.5 feet and is currently 2.5 feet above flood stage. The Mississippi River in Cape Girardeau currently sets at 33.8 feet. On Wednesday the river sat at 37.5 feet. The river is currently just 1.8 feet above flood stage.
