St. Francis Mobile Facility Approved by the Board of Alderman in Jackson
The Jackson Board of Aldermen gave their approval to a special-use permit during their meeting on Monday night. This gives Saint Francis Medical Center the right to operate a temporary mobile medical office that is along 2130 E. Jackson Boulevard while a new medical office consisting of two stories is currently under construction. The city’s zoning ordinances say , a special-use permit is mandatory for a temporary mobile facility to be put in a location zoned as C-2, a general commercial district. Officials with St. Francis made the request for the permit so that they could keep primary care practices along with clinical services at their current location while their current office is being demolished and reconstructed at the same sight. Officials say that construction on the new facility will begin in the spring. Members of the Jackson Planning & Zoning Commission voted in favor of their request last month, but made the recommendation for members of the city’s board alderman to approve it.
