Paducah city council members gave their approval to begin a Creative & Cultural Council on Tuesday. This was one of the goals within the city’s what’s Important Now initiatives to increase both culture and arts within the city. Five local citizens will be in charge of serving on the council once they are chosen by the mayor. The city’s the planning director, neighborhood project planner, and the grants administrator will be alongside the chosen residents as members of the council. The council will conduct meetings on a basis of every three months. The council will serve as a resource for area organizations and artists and promote and encourage expansion along with growth of the creative industry among other responsibilities.
