A Benton woman was arrested Monday following an investigation into identity theft started in October. Police say a woman told them that she had been the target of several fake messages that had been sent by text and on social media by people claiming to be her, and that it had been occurring for approximately two years. Police later obtained a search warrant to find out where the IP adress where the messages originated. The suspect was later identified as 46 year-old Tonya Clevidence. Detectives currently believe the account was created by her. Clevidence is charged with identity theft and harassing communications.
