Sikeston City Council to Vote on Economic Development Rate

During Monday’s City Council Meeting in Sikeston the first reading of a bill that would determine the city’s economic development incentive rate. The bill was passed by the state legislation last year and it  made the  state’s Investor Owned Utilities to   have an economic initiative to assist  in encouraging businesses  to operate or branch out into Missouri. Recently, the BMU Board gave their approval to a similar incentive rate for application in Sikeston. The city Council will take a vote on the bill on January 6, 2020.
