Area Rivers Predicted to Reach Flood Stage

A few area rivers are predicted to rise to levels considered to be a minor flood stage later this week. As of Sunday afternoon, the Ohio River was measured at 36.2 feet, but it is possible for the river to reach 41.5 feet by Friday. The Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau was at 29.8 feet as of Sunday afternoon.  The river is predicted to reach 32.5 feet by Wednesday morning. As of right now, the Ohio River at Paducah is rising but is not estimated to reach flood stage. The river is predicted to reach 32.5 feet, which is below the flood stage of 39 feet.
