The suspect, who was wanted for breaking the windows of vehicles in Paducah, has been arrested. The suspect was identified as 42 year-old Jeremy P. Hemmings. He was arrested in Marshall County on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2019. The suspect was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, fraudulent use of a credit card (more than $500) and felony theft by unlawful taking (contents of a vehicle. On November 24, 2019 police received four reports of windows broken out of vehicles near the Kentucky Oaks Mall. The reports came from people who were at Cracker Barrel, Dicks’s Sporting Goods, Cinemark Theaters and Texas Roadhouse. Two of the victims told police that their purses were stolen out of their vehicles. Police found out later that a debit card stolen from one of the purses was used at a nearby convenience store and another store. Police are reminding citizens, especially holiday shoppers, to hide valuables in vehicles from view or to remove them completely.
