Local School Hosts Exspo to Inform Public of Employment and Other Resources in Local Community

Several local businesses and organizations took part in a career Expo that was held on Monday at Jefferson Elementary in Cape Girardeau. The event was put on in the school’s gymnasium. Several residents came to the exspo, either to seek employment or additional resources within the local and surrounding communities.   A few of the local companies that took part in the event include Taco Bell, Havco, Rhodes and several others. Many local organizations took part in the event to provide useful information and helpful recourses to local families any youth in the area. Some of the organizations that participated in the event include the Missouri Veterans Home   and the Cape Girardeau Public Health Center  The event was also put on to educate the public about the resources that are made available through the .S.N.A.P. program. The program was founded to assist families, who have lost a family member because of violence. The program has services in early childhood social skills training along with monthly meetings and several other services. School officials are making plans to put on another exspo next spring.
