On Sunday, as part of the Kids Against Hunger packaging event at the Cape Girardeau SportsPlex the Bridge Church in Cape Girardeau packaged and loaded a truck with over 10,000 meals that will go to Hati for children in need of food. The church was able to accomplish this with the help of 150 volunteers of all ages. The 10,000 meals were loaded onto the truck in an hour and a half. The donations of thousands of meals were part of the church’s Sunday ministry. The local portable church was able to take part in this year’s event because the Osage Center where they normally have their services was being used for a craft fair. The portable church began working with the Kids Against Hunger last year in conjunction with the churches mission project and chose to participate in this year’s event while the craft fair was being held.
