The Illinois Emergency Agency (IEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration will open a total of four disaster Loan Outreach Centers to assist those who were affected by the historic flooding over the spring and summer. One of the outreach centers will be located in Alexander County. Starting on Thursday, through December 5, 2019 DOLC will open at Pit Stop Pizza in East Cape Girardeau. The centers will assist homeowners, renters, private non-profit organizations and business owners wth application process or low-interest, long-term loans and provide additional information to help with further flood recovery efforts. Flooding victims Alexander, Pulaski and Union Counties are eligible for the loans. Those who are either a home owner or a renter can apply for loans to have property that sustained flood damage to be replaced. Businesses and private non-profit organizations can apply for loans to replace or make repairs to their real estate along with other assets. The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Jan. 13, 2020. The deadline to return economic injury applications is Aug. 14, 2020.
