Members of the Harrisburg City Council voted to allow marijuana sales in their town during a city council meeting on Thursday night. The council voted 4 to 1 to pass the resolution. Resolution 19-1107A makes it legal for the sale of adult use cannabis. The law takes effect in January. The council also voted to implement a 3% tax on sales of marijuana. Harrisburg becomes the fourth city within Williamson County to legalize marijuana, joining Carbondale, Anna, and Mount Vernon.
