With the help of a recent grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services Substance USe Prevention and Recovery (SUPR) health care provider Center stone will now offer a gambling addiction service. The service will be available for residents to use in and around the local Illinois counties of Franklin, Jackson, Perry, Union and Williamson. Before the grant was approved there weren’t any gambling treatment providers in Centerstone’s coverage area throughout the Southern Illinois area. Centerstone will implement and develop objective strategies for gambling disorder treatment to assist with the expansion and enhancement of tele-health treatment, including working with community partners and referral sources. Officials say, the use of tele-health will be beneficial for those who face treatment and support barriers, especially those living in extreme rural areas. Staff members, who are trained and certified, will additionally provide services to the family members to people that are struggling with gambling addiction as well as those, who are struggling. The treatment of gambling disorder includes Gambling disorder screening, Comprehensive, Comprehensive assessment, Incorporation of family members, among other treatments. Treatment is now available now at two different Centerstone locations, 2311 South Illinois Avenue in Carbondale, Ill, and, 1307 West Main in Marion, Ill.
