Several of the 130 employees of the city of Jackson could see more money on their paychecks next year if city officials adopt a purposed salary schedule that was brought about during a Board Alderman Study session on Monday, October 21, 2019. Jackson city officials estimate that the salary schedule that was brought about by a wage and consulting firm city officials, engaged to study the city’s current pay scales. This would mean a wage increase of nearly 10% for employees employed by the city; however, city officials emphasized the city staff has to study the recommendation of the consultant to see if accommodations can be made in next year’s budget for the city of Jackson.
