A jury in Cape Girardeau County has found a Sikeston man not guilty of a murder charge in the second degree. The man, who was acquitted by the jury, was identified as Orlando Sheron, Jr. The second degree murder charge he was proven not guilty of was the April 2016 shooting death of Jay Harris. Sheron’s trial was moved to Jackson on a change of venue. Officials said the jurors deliberated approximately an hour and a half before handing down a not-guilty verdict. There was a second suspect involved in the case, and he was identified as Jeterrence Harris. He pleaded guilty in July 2016 to unlawful use of a weapon.
