Vacant Seat in Cape Girardeau City Council Filled

A seventh member has been added to the Cape Girardeau City Council. Nathan Thomas was elected on a revote after the first voted was cast in a 3-3 deadlock. He was elected by a 5-1 vote. Thomas currently serves as a physical therapist at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. Before that he served in government relations in Washington .D.C.The seat came open when Victor Gunn resigned last month after moving to another ward in the city. The seat in which Thomas inherits covers the central area of the town from Pacific Street to Kings Highway to Cape Rock Road, South to Brink Street.
