Cape Girardeau City Council Making Plans to Keep Property Taxes the Same

The Cape Girardeau City Council is making plans to leave city property taxes at the same rate. The new fiscal year for the City Council started on July 1, 2019 and concludes on June 2020. Local residents would have to pay $12.02 for every $10,000 of property they have ownership of. The potential tax levies for every $100.00 assessed include a payment of $0.3037 for the general fund,).0569 for the health fund, and $0.7076 for the downtown special business district.
