Illinois Governor Signs Bill to Expand Voting Rights to SIU Students

Governor, Pritzker, signed a new bill into law on Tuesday. The new bill will spread out voting rights for students, who are members of the university board at Southern Illinois University Carbondale  The board currently has  two student trustees on it. Up until now only one student trustee has historically been given a vote on matters before the board. Both SIUC and SIUE have rotated the vote in the past. The new law will officially go into law on New Year’s Day 2020.
