River Still Above Flood Stage in Cape Girardeau

As of Friday morning the Mississippi River was still above flood stage in Cape Girardeau. The rivrt stood at 24.37 feet. The river has now been above flood stage for 136 consecutive days. This year the river has been above flood stage for 11 days longer than it has ever been. The longest the river was ever above flood stage was 125 days. The National Weather Service Seys the river is expected to stay above flood stage until early August.
