Proposition Y Projects Have Started at Local Schools

Local projects that were approved by local voters have started as the heating system is currently being updated at Cape Central High school. The proposition totals $12 million to be put forth to a number of different repairs to be made within the school district. Some of the projects proposition Y will fund include  redoing parking lots, at Cape Central High school, Blanchard Elementary and  the Career and Technology Center , heating repairs throughout the district, and an over haul and expansion to Jefferson Elementary School.  Early last week the Cape Girardeau Board of Education approved the school district to pursue Phillip B. Smith Architect LLC, of Cape Girardeau to come up with plans for renovations for a pair of elementary schools within the district. One  of the plans is creating a design to construct a preschool  on the Jefferson School Campus.
