River above Flood Stage for 127 Consecutive Days

The Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau continues to set above flood stage. As of Wednesday the river stood at 36.8 feet. The river has been above flood stage for 127 days. The National Weather Service seys, the river is expected to remain above flood stage until the first of August. The broke a record earlier this week for days above flood stage. The record that was broken was 125, set back in 1993. The river was above flood stage from June 10th to early October that year.
