Water Levels Continue to Get Higher in East Cape Girardeau

Flood waters continue to get higher across the river in East Cape Girardeau. Over 150 National Guard and Air National Guard members were in East Cape Girardeau Sunday continuing help with the flood fighting efforts.  IDOT Officials say, the water on the closed Highway 146 by the Bill Emerson Bridge has risen another half inch overnight. The depth   now is up over a foot at 13 inches. Because a portion of Highway 146 is closed residents and motorists either have to take a boat through the water if they want or need to cross it. The other option is not to go across it. Local leaders and crews within the town continue to monitor both the levees and pumps.
