Two Men Sustain Serious Injuries in Motorcycle Crash

Two people received serious injuries following a motorcycle crash in Murphysboro, Illinois on Sunday afternoon. The crash occurred at the intersection of Jenkins Road and McLaughland Road around 6:30 p.m., police say. Deputies learned the motorcycle was on McLaughland Rd. northbound at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control on a turn and the motorcycle left the road hitting a nearby building. The two victims involved in the crash were identified as 47 year-old Clyde Dobyns and 45 year-old Scott Dobyns. Both men sustained serious injuries in the crash. Both of them were airlifted to regional hospitals for treatment. Police are currently unsure, who was driving the motorcycle at the time of the crash. Formal charges are pending.
