This past month was another wet month for the regions of Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois, and Western Kentucky. The National Weather Service Found that nearly no areas in the region had a rainfall deficit, but average between four and eight inches of rainfall over 30 days. A few isolated areas in Jackson and Johnson Counties saw over ten inches of rainfall In Southern Illinois is. In addition, temperatures throughout the region were around 10 degrees cooler. The National Weather Service issued over 150 severe storm watches and warnings. The busiest month in issuing watches and Warnings for severe storms was in April of 2011. A total of 311 watches or warnings were issued.
