Mississippi River at 41.8 Feet

The Mississippi River has been at flood stage for 113 days as of Wednesday. City officials continue to man pumping stations round the clock. The river currently stands 41.8 feet high in the Cape Girardeau Area. City Officials say, the river is currently in a moderate flood stage. The river had previously been at major flood stage at 42 feet for 50 days prior. The National Weather Service Predicts the river will not drop below flood stage until around July 19th or 20th. Because of all the rain water up north that hasn’t made its way through the area yet.
