Mississippi River Still Well above Flood Stage in Cape Girardeau

The Mississippi River in Cape Girardeau currently stands at 42 feet. The river is still ten feet above normal flood stage. City Officials are still manning the pumping stations. City Officials say, they haven’t had any major issues to deal with other than flooding. City officials also say, there is no timetable to when pumping could be over, they say it could take at least a couple more weeks depending on the weather. The pumping stations are monitored daily. MoDot officials say, the Emerson Bridge in Cape Girardeau is closed due to seep water, and route 3 and 146 are also closed.
