There will be a new marijuana law that will be in effect for the state of Illinois on New Year’s Day 2020. Any adult who, is older than 21 will now be able to purchase marijuana. It may only be used for recreational use. It can only be purchased in dispensaries, which have a license within the state. State police have confirmed the training and enforcement they will abide by. State Police will be the head of the DUI Cannabis Task Force. This is being created to deal with personal concerns of DUI Cannabis. Those, who are members, will be able to suggest ideas to law enforcement to keep the public safe. State Police are in the process of researching oral fluid testing, which is testing of a person’s saliva. State Law enforcement is currently gathering information from other states in which it is legal and are conducting fluid testing to enforce the law.
