A man accused of animal abuse when he taped the muzzle and legs of a black lab less than a year-old, made a court appearance on Tuesdayin McCracken County. The man was identified as Jayce Bryant. He was taken into custody on May 2, 2019. He faces charges of torturing a dog or cat resulting in serious injury. The puppy managed to get free and ran away, but still suffered physical injury because its muzzle was taped shut. An investigation by police led officers to Bryant. Police say, he admitted to taping the dog because it had bitten him. Police say, he intended to remove the ductape while dumping the dog in another neighborhood, but it ran away. The case is headed to a grand Jury, and if he is convicted indicted his case will continue to circuit court. His date for arraignment is set for July 18, 2019.
