Man Arrested After Firing Gun into Crowd

One person was arrested after a shooting on West Jackson Street in Carbondale, Illinois on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Police say, at around 2 a.m. officers were watching people outside of the Hollywood Lounge West Jackson Street when they saw a man fire a handgun towards the crowd. The man was identified as 21 year-old Jermaine Ross. Police say he ran, but was quickly arrested. Ross was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of weapons among other charges. There were no injuries reported. Officers found a handgun at the scene. oss was take the Jackson County Jail.
