Accident Knocks Out Power for Ameren Customers in Cape Girardeau

A minor car crash on Friday in Cape Girardeau knocked out power for hundreds of Ameren Missouri Customers. Police say, A SEMO Student was driving a campus truck which hit a guy-wire supporting a utility pole on campus around 11:30 a.m. The utility pole snapped off at the top. Officers on the scene said the broken section of the pole fell and hit a parked car in a campus student parking lot off of N. Henderson, near Broadway. No one was injured in the crash. Police said the crashes caused minimal damage.
