Police say, a Trooper stopped a vehicle after the driver tried to flee in Paducah, Kentucky. The suspect was identified as 41 year-old William S. Mills. He was taken into custody on charges of speeding 26 miles per hour or greater over the speed limit and DUI first aggravating circumstances, among other charges. A trooper said he saw a black Dodge pick-up truck traveling in the oncoming lane of traffic and swerving between lanes on Wednesday, May 8 around 10 p.m. The trooper said he attempted to stop the vehicle being driven by Mills. The trooper also said, Mills slowed down and pulled into a business lot at Clarks River Rd and Bridge St. After the suspect pulled into the lot, instead of stopping, Mills accelerated and pulled onto Bridge St. The trooper said Mills threw several items out of the vehicle while being pursued. The items were later recovered by local deputies. The Pursuit ended when the vehicles reached Hardmoney Rd where Mills was arrested. He was taken to the McCracken County Jail.
