Man to Serve Six Months for Not Registering As a Sex Offender

A Popular Bluff man was sentenced to half a year in jail for not regressing as a sex offender. The man was identified as 30 year-old Aaron J. Posadny. He will have to serve five years of supervised release once his prison term ends. He will also have to pay a $100 special assessment. Posadny previously pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender back in February. He was required to register as a sex offender after being convicted of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in Ohio.  Officials said, police contacted Posadny on the property of Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market in reference to a trespassing complaint. Investigating officers learned he was a convicted sex offender and had lived in Poplar Bluff for two or three weeks. Posadny appeared before a judge on May 7, 2019.
