Fire Breaks Out At a Townhouse in Cape Girardeau

Fire Crews responded to a structure fire Tuesday, April 30 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Fire crews at the scene said they have reopened the intersection of Lexington and West Cape Rock Drive. The roadway was closed to traffic as crews used a fire hydraunt. Officials said smoke alarm went off in an upstairs bedroom of a townhouse on the 1300 block of Lexington. When crews arrived, they said they saw light smoke coming out of a bedroom. Officials say, one window blew open and flames began. Firefighters were able to put out those flames quickly and keep the fire contained to the bedroom. Crews were called out around 6:45 a.m. No one was injured in the fire. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
