Police say, they arrested a man, who attempted to flee from them on a bike. On Thursday night, just before midnight a police officer attempted to stop and identify a male subject on a bicycle on West 7th Street near Carlton Ave. Police said the man on the bicycle sped up and passed by officers. After a brief pursuit the man crashed his bicycle and ran on foot. After a short chase and struggle, officers said they were able to place the subject under arrest. Police said upon conducting the search officers located suspected drug paraphernalia on his person. The suspect was taken to the Pemiscot County Jail. He was held there for 24 hours pending formal charges for possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, and willfully opposing a police officer.
