Case against Coach Headed to Grand Jury

The case against a Michigan coach accused of knocking an official unconscious earlier this month will be heard by a grand jury. The suspect was identified as Kenyon Meinfield. He made his first appearance in court on Tuesday. The judge decided then to send the case to a grand jury based on evidence that had been found. The suspect was arrested at a hotel in Paducah on April 6, 2019. Deputies responded to a basketball game at Sports Plex located on .U.S. Highway 60 West. The suspect and the official got into a disagreement. The suspect punched the official as he turned to walk away. The suspect then fled the scene before police arrived. Meinfield was charged with a felony for punching the official. He was arrested once more on April 16, 2019 at the court house in McCracken County. He is currently being held at the McCracken County Jail.
