Community Caring Council Buys Former Police Station

The Community Caring Council of Cape Girardeau was awarded the purchase of the building that used to be home to the Cape Girardeau Police Department. The purchase was made official on Monday after a vote from the City Council. The Community Caring Council has been in operation for the past 30 years, and the non – profit organization serves the community by assisting poor and homeless individuals throughout the local area. The building was purchased for a total of $100,000. The organization is moving into the larger facility to accommodate more people and deepen their current programs. The main purpose of the move is to be able to provide for  individuals who are without shelter basic facilities such as showers and laundry rooms to have better day services and provide enhanced house management.
