Residents, who make a purchase over the internet in the city limits of Jackson, won’t have to be concerned about paying for sales tax any time soon. There was a specific proposal brought about on the election ballot that would have changed that. The majority of voters on Tuesday voted against the purposed use tax measure. In total, 690 residents voted against the proposal, while there were 608 voters that said yes. The rest of the state of Missouri as a whole includeing the city of Cape Girardeau is already using the use tax measure.
