Police Offering Cash Reward for Murder Information

Police in Mount Vernon Illinois are still looking for a suspect in correction with a murder that happened last month. A $500 cash reward will be presented by the Jefferson County Crime Stoppers to anyone who has information to the arrest of the person or persons involved in the first-degree murder of Carlos Lewis. Police say that the murder took place on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5:37 p.m. in the 2100 block of Perkins Avenue. Anyone with names of the persons responsible or other knowledge is asked to contact the Crime Stoppers or the Mount Vernon Police Department.
