A Sikeston Missouri man was sentenced to 58 months in prison for a robbery that took place on July 16, 2018. The robbery happened at a Dollar General Store in Sikeston. The suspect was identified as 40 year-old Joshua Kerr. He was given the sentence on Wednesday. He was booked on charges of robbery, carjacking and possession of ammunition by a felon. The suspect entered the store and demanded the store’s cash. A store employee gave money from three of the stores registers along with a cash refund bag. He then fled the scene in the employee’s car. He was taken into police custody at a warehouse in Sikeston. Police discovered during the arrest he possessed several rounds of ammunition. Kerr had been previously convicted of distribution of a controlled substance in New Madrid County and possession of a controlled substance in Stoddard County.
