Police say, good Samaritans rescued a driver from flood waters on Monday. Just after 11.a.m. on Monday police were dispatched to Illinois Highway 13 east of Airport road in response to a crash. Police say a 2012 Hyundai passenger car was going west on IL-13 and went off the right side of the road and travelled down an embankment into flood waters. Police say that two Good Samaritans ran into the floodwater and pulled the unresponsive driver from the vehicle. Both men carried the driver to safety and covered him up to keep him warm until emergency services arrived. Ehen emergency services arrived the man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.The crash is still under investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
