Man Sentenced to 25 years for Killing Infant

A Cape Girardeau man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a one year-old girl. The man was identified as 29 year-old Isac Egbuka . He was given the sentence on Monday after he pleaded guilty to first-degree involuntary manslaughter and one count of armed criminal action in December 2018. Egbuka will serve two different sentences. He will serve a decade in prison for manslaughter and 15 years for armed criminal action. The shooting took place on March 12,2018 at 50 Green Acres Drive shortly before 2.a.m. The child he shot was identified as Jamariel Lanique Tanksley, Police say, she was pronounced dead just after 3:30.a.m. at St. Francis Regional Medical Center.
