Home Catches Fire in Cape Girardeau

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department was called out to a house fire just before 2.a.m. on Tuesday morning. The fire broke out at the 2400 block of Albert Rasche Drive.  The fire caused extensive damage to the home. A family was inside the home when the fire began. The entire family was able to escape and there were no injuries to report. When fire crews arrived on the scene they discovered that smoke was coming from the rear of the home. The basement of the home caught fire as well as the inside of the stairway. Firemen were able to put out the fire in twenty minutes. The fire was confirmed to be an accident.
