A man is currently facing charges in connection with an incident that occurred in Jefferson County in December. The man, who is facing charges, was identified as 39 year-old Victor Serrano. The incident took place on December 21, 2018 at Country Club Road in Mt. Vernon, Ill. The charges pending against him include Attempted Murder and Attempted International Homicide of a Child along with kidnapping, and Domestic Battery. He is accused severely injuring an expecting mother. The suspect is currently being held in Indiana at Vandeburgh County Jail. His bond is set at $500,000. He was arrested following a pursuit in December after he ran into a police car. The suspect currently awaits extradition back to Mount Vernon.
