Two suspects were taken into police custody following a police chase that went from Cape Girardeau to Oak Ridge. Local police attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of William and Sprigg streets just before 10.p.m. Tuesday evening. The driver of the vehicle did not obey the police and continued driving onto Highway 177. Police were able to catch up to the vehicle on highway B. in Oak Ridge just past the high school. The driver led police on a foot chase while the other person stayed inside. Police did catch the suspect and they took both people into custody shortly before 10:30.p.m. The driver was taken into custody on two warrants. One was for a probation violation and the other was from Bollinger County for dangerous drugs.
