A Popular Bluff man was taken into police custody late Tuesday morning. The arrest was made at 11:26 .a.m. in Butler County. The suspect was identified as 40 year-old Alphonse D. Avila. He was taken into custody on a Failure to Appear Warrant in both Popular Bluff and Butler County. The two charges that where pressed against him where a weapons offense in Butler County and a Shoplifting and driving without insurance in Popular Bluff. He was transported to the Butler County Jail where he is currently being held.
